Board a jeep for an exciting half-day of fun. From a lush valley fully planted with bananas, commence your “Jungle Journey” through rural countryside as the road winds upward. The view will take your breath away and weather permitting you will be able to see the tallest mountain in St. Lucia mount Gimie, at 3200 feet tall. The next stop is for a 15-minute hike (either way) to a beautiful waterfall before proceeding to a natural river pool for a refreshing swim. It is then on to the fishing village of Anse La Ray, before heading back to the jeeps for a ½-hour scenic return trip. Canopy Adventure is an exhilarating half-day canopy adventure begins with a bus journey through the interior of the island and off road to the canopy base situated in the heart of the exotic rainforest, you are given a safety briefing and geared up for an unforgettable experience. Then enjoy a bird’s eye view as you zip through 9 platforms with a unique view of the tropical forest and river. Trained guides are stationed at each platform to assist and provide you with information and safety procedures throughout the course. Viewing the rainforest up high, zipping thought the rainforest canopy at 20mph. sliding over rivers and valleys, is one of the best ways to view the forest and its wildlife. Your Jungle Biking Adventure tour begins as you are picked up by a 55 foot power boat for the 30 minute cruise to south along the St. Lucia’s picturesque west coast to jungle reef adventure, located near the village of Soufriere and world famous Pitons. 12 miles of trail awaits riders in a lush coastal rain forest. On arrival you will be issued a bike helmet and Cannondale F800 mountain bike. In addition to riding you may relax on the beach, snorkel in the marine park, or stroll the jungle nature trails and explore the 18th century plantation ruins. The tour includes a delicious buffet lunch at the jungle grill – and transportation, safety gear, bicycle, snorkeling gear and JRA water bottle are provided. The Pitons are a World Heritage Site, and Gros Piton (2619ft) is recommended for climbing. Numerous brigand sites including caves, tunnels, rock shelters, camps, signal stations, lookouts and landing sites can be seen. Tropical birds are plentiful and there are dramatic changes in the vegetation as you ascend to the peak. This tour starts at 6:00am with a one and a half hour drive to Soufriere. It is a challenging hike and is done in a full day tour. Lunch is also served at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel.
